PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Department of Weights and Measures is responsible for conducting annual testing at all retail and commercial establishments. This is done to ensure the accuracy and proper usage of all weighing and measuring devices.

This department strives to keep equity in the marketplace while protecting consumers and businesses from unfair practices.

LOCAL BUSINESSES

If your business plans to sell product by weight or volume, please contact this department prior to operating to ensure compliance with Article 16 of the Agriculture and Markets Law.

Our office will work with you and your business to select the proper type approved device (legal for trade) and schedule an appointment to test and certify your devices.
