Naloxone Program

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

  • The Naloxone Program is an important health initiative aimed at reducing the number of opioid-related overdoses and saving lives.
  • Naloxone, also known by its brand name Narcan, is a life-saving medication that can rapidly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

PUBLIC AWARENESS

  • Given the rural nature of the county, community outreach is particularly important.
  • Public health officials and social services organizations have been working to raise awareness about Naloxone availability and ensure that residents understand how to obtain and use the medication.
