Applying
All sections of the application must be completed and all required documents submitted. Incomplete applications may result in denial.
Next Steps
Once your completed application is received, the Wyoming County District Attorney’s Office will notify you by letter regarding your enrollment in the Traffic Diversion Program. A copy of this notification will also be sent to the court. Please allow 7–10 days for processing.
Court Dates
The court will be notified of your acceptance, and your case will be adjourned for 60 days. It is important to attend all court dates scheduled by the court. Failure to appear for a scheduled court date may result in suspension of your driver’s license. If you require an adjournment, please contact the court directly.
- Do not contact the District Attorney’s Office, as it does not have the authority to grant adjournments.
Defensive Driving Course
During your 60-day adjournment, you must complete a defensive driving course and send the course completion certificate directly to the Wyoming County District Attorney’s Office (the same address where you mailed your application).
- You may take any defensive driving course of your choice.
Dismissal
Upon receipt of your course completion certificate, the District Attorney’s Office will notify you and the court by letter of your successful completion of the Traffic Diversion Program and will withdraw prosecution of your ticket. Your court case will then be dismissed.
