Key Dates


Taxable Status Date

  • March 1st is the deadline for all exemption applications. 
    • This is a firm cutoff. 
    • All applications must be received by the Assessor's Office no later than March 1st.
    • Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

Tentative Assessment Roll Filed

  • The Tentative Assessment Roll must be filed by May 1st
  • Grievance Day is the date when the Board of Assessment Review (BAR) meets to hear assessment complaints. 
  • This date varies by town but falls between the fourth Tuesday in May and second Monday in June.  
  • Grievance applications must be before the close of the before the close of the Grievance Day session to be considered by the BAR.
