Identification & Procedures

Proper Identification required

Adults 18 years and older are required to present a valid photo ID that includes their date of birth. Acceptable forms of identification include:

  • Driver’s license
  • Non-driver’s identification card
  • Benefit card
  • Military ID

Items Allowed In Visitation Room

Nothing will be allowed to enter the visitation room unless the Control Room Operator notifies the visitation officer before the visit starts of any item(s) entering the visit room, and the visitation officer approves that item.

No items are allowed in the visitation room unless the Control Room Operator notifies the visitation officer before the visit begins, and the visitation officer approves the items.

Metal Detector

  • All visitors must pass through a metal detector and are allowed two attempts to clear it. Visitors who do not pass will be scanned with a handheld detector. If they fail to clear the handheld scan, access will be denied.
  • Any items removed from visitors to pass the scan must remain off until after the visit concludes.
  • Visitors must wear appropriate footwear, pants or shorts, and a shirt to be allowed entry.
  • Avoid wearing steel-toed shoes or bras with wires, as these may trigger the metal detector.
  • Visitors with surgically implanted metal must provide a physician’s note verifying the implant.

Walking devices

A physician’s note is required to enter the visiting area when using a walking device such as a cane, walker, or crutches.
