MISSION

The Wyoming County Probation Department's primary mission is to enhance the safety of the community through the fair and effective supervision of offenders, community partnerships and results-driven practices.  Probation supervision allows appropriate offenders to remain in the community as productive citizens, while providing them with opportunities and assistance to change their patterns of behavior through evidence-based practices to reduce recidivism. Probation supervision is one of the most cost-efficient sentencing alternatives while still providing for community safety.

ANCILLARY SERVICES

The Probation Department has implemented and continues to expand cognitive behavioral programming and employment readiness support. Area employers with questions about probation-related employment conditions, opportunities for individuals on probation, or other employment concerns are encouraged to contact Director Joan Kibler.
