Wyoming County Water Resource Agency
Planning for Future Water Needs
The WCWRA Board of Directors is currently developing long-range plans for the potential expansion of public water service areas within Wyoming County.
We are reviewing areas of the county that would benefit from the installation or expansion of public water supplies to address public health and safety concerns and/or to aid in economic development.
If you have water concerns or wish to comment on this process, please contact the administrator by email or phone to discuss these issues.

Leak detection program
- The WCWRA has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Wyoming County Health Department to operate leak detection equipment. Under this agreement, Health Department staff will provide emergency leak detection and conduct leak detection survey services for water systems throughout Wyoming County.
- This service has been successfully used numerous times in recent years.
- To learn more about the program or to request leak detection services, please contact the Health Department at 585-786-8894.
Project assistance
The WCWRA is actively partnering with local water suppliers to promote system expansion and support necessary upgrades. Future partnerships may be established to address health and safety concerns or to foster economic growth.
- As part of the long-term planning, additional water sources are being explored to ensure an adequate supply to meet increasing demand.
- This planning may also involve the creation of new water or sewer districts at the town or county level.
- WCWRA will continue collaborating with communities to encourage shared municipal services and inter-municipal agreements. These efforts aim to reduce costs and support the long-term sustainability of local water and wastewater systems.
